One voice for many
My union, your union, our union.
Safe Actions. Save Lives.
Work zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever.
CSEA member and equipment operator for the Town of Yorktown Highway Department, Jake Arcara was killed on September 24, 2022, after being struck by a vehicle while working in a construction zone. National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual campaign held at the onset of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones. We honor those, like Jake, who were killed or injured while on the job.
The underlying message is for drivers to be alert, be aware of their surroundings, and exercise caution when driving in work zones. When you’re approaching roadway construction, slow down, move over, and don’t zone out!
